Excellent Performance. Overly Absorbent Upper?

"Important Preface: I put over 400 miles on two pairs of the previous model of this shoe during my 2024 and 2025 marathon training cycles. Same training, same time of year, same climate, same socks, same use case. Loved them. I added this model to my rotation for my 2026 training cycle to serve the same purpose. I am a big fan of Craft in general - their products and my interactions with the company have been first class. In addition to the Endurance 2 I have a pair of Craft Nordlite Ultras in my rotation which have been great, and I have winter gear from Craft which has been excellent during Chicago winter training. REVIEW: everything about this shoe from a performance standpoint is excellent/as advertised. Zero complaints. BUT! I currently have just over 60 miles on them; I noticed after my first humid/sweaty long run that the uppers on these were retaining more moisture and taking longer to dry out than all of my other running shoes (and also more than on the previous Craft model which had a different upper). I chalked it up to an outlier of a run, but the trend continued with every humid long run. The unfortunate result of this is that the shoes began to smell shockingly bad/like Body Odor. None of my running shoes smell pleasant, but these smell bad enough to elicit a gag reflex. They are currently air-drying outside, with paper towels stuffed inside of them after a comprehensive hand washing with dawn ultra and warm water. I'm hoping that's enough to improve them to normal running shoe stink, so that I can relegate them to strictly climate controlled treadmill runs and cool/cold weather running (I know they'll last at least 400 miles because all of my Craft shoes have and I'd hate to trash them at 60 miles). I'd say I am in the middle of the spectrum when it comes to how much I sweat, and I have never experienced this with any running shoes (and I've been through a lot including multiple pairs from Craft). So I don't think this is an issue unique to me. I'm leaving this review because I genuinely feel like Craft listens and responds well to customer feedback when it comes to how they improve their products. I'm not looking for any kind of replacement/customer care call - just wanted Craft and folks looking at these shoes to know what I encountered. It's also possible that I got a pair with a defective upper."

All around shoe

"Out of the box it has good fit with room in the toe box. The shoe feels aggressive in forward propulsion. The foam feels medium firm, it is not overly soft but borders on not being forgiving enough. I could see this being good speed work/tempo shoe but not sure about going full marathon in them."

"Shipping could be better, the quality price factor of the sneakers worth the wait."

Excellent running shoes

"This is the first pair of Craft running shoes I purchased. They are very comfortable. I definitely would purchase another pair in the future."

This shoe checks all my boxes!

"I've got weird feet. Wide with bunions on both big toes. It makes finding shoes that are comfortable nearly impossible. The non-restrictive upper of the Endurance 2 form fits to your feet like a glove and the foam cushion underneath is superb. Fit true to size with a slightly wide toe-box - quality and finish 100%."

Good not great

"Good traction. I like the slightly wide and high-volume toe box, but these are a pain to lace up. They look very nice if you have to wear them casually. I think the design is my favorite aspect. The foam is slightly behind their competitors at this price point. It's a decent daily trainer, you can probably run 350+ miles in them before they are really beat down. They fit my custom orthotic fine (which I used maybe 2-3 times in this shoe). It's a decent shoe for running on gravel. The traction is good on roads and even relatively grippy in wet conditions. The shoe offers some ground feel particularly in the forefoot. I think a 6mm off-set and a bit more cushion up front would benefit the shoe. Not a bad daily trainer but I wouldn't use it for anything but easy run. I tried it in a couple workouts and it just wasn't smooth. Love the black and white color, as it transitions easily to a casual shoe. A lot of the other colors are a bit crazy to me."
