Running Shoes

ALL SHOES ARE NOT MADE EQUALLY!

Runners in search of superior alternatives of running shoes know how important it is when choosing the right shoe—be it for road, trail, or hybrid running—is crucial for comfort, fit, and durability. Because no one’s feet are the same as their running partners. For those dedicated to miles on the road you may be looking for lightweight and breathable nimble running shoes while your trail running junkie friend needs traction and durability with a touch of stability. Then there are always those people who can not make up their mind. And that is why we have Hybrid running shoes. For those running from road to trail and everything in between our Hybrid running shoes offer a balance of road shoe qualities with the trail shoe characteristics elevating your experience with every stride.

Running Shorts

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY OPTIONS?

We understand the diverse needs of runners, which is why we offer an extensive selection of running shorts. But are there too many? Though each pair is tailored to enhance your running experience, providing the freedom, support, and breathability each has their own purpose. If you need the freedom of movement then a 2” (inseam) short or a split shorts works for you. But not for everyone. Some are looking for a little more protection than a split short but with the same freedom of movement and will seek out a ‘short tight’. And those are definitely not for everyone. Those adding up some trail miles typically look for something with more coverage and protection that is more constructed with more durable fabrics that resist tearing on branches and rocks. One feature of running shorts that is probably the crux point for many is the liner - or lack thereof. Some swear by them but others avoid them at all cost. It can depend on your running style, the size of your thighs and what you are used to. Need to start somewhere? Something in the 5” inseam range is a great starting point and can also be used for working out at the gym.

Running Jackets

7 QUALITIES THAT MAKE THE IDEAL JACKET

Investing in a quality running jacket can significantly improve your running experience by providing comfort, protection, and convenience. We have found seven key attributes of the ideal running jacket. Breathability, visability, protection, packability, storage/pockets and versatility are alot to pack into one jacket but depending on your running style you may be ok sacrificing some of these. As Swede’s we love our jackets as wet weather is not new to us.

Running Tights

BECAUSE WARM LEGS ARE FAST LEGS

There are many runners who throw on a pair of tights during any temperature, especially in the northern latitudes like Sweden. Well, maybe not in the heat of the summer, but there is something about running when your legs and knees are warm and your muscles are relaxed. And there are many versions of tights, from a simple thin layer that can be worn everyday to tights with wind protection, have added thermal sections and some even with enhanced visibility. If you have not run with tights yet start with something simple with limited seams but a few storage areas for gels, keys and maybe your phone.

Running Tees and Tops

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

Opt for our short sleeve tees when you need a balance of coverage and cooling, perfect for those mild to warm days when breathability is key. Typically something ventilated with moisture wicking fabrics is a good start. For cooler weather, offering extra warmth and protection (even from the sun) try a long sleeve jersey without sacrificing comfort, making them ideal for early morning runs or cooler climates. When the temperature really drops baselayers are critical as they add a layer of warmth and are specifically designed to wick moisture - critical when layering your kit. On the other end of the thermometer are tank tops. They are the ultimate in ventilation and freedom of movement, providing minimal coverage while maximizing airflow, ideal for the hottest days or most intense sessions.

Running Accessories

IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS

This is an area many of us overlook but shouldn’t. A good run with the proper hat or glove is what makes it a great run. That does not mean to grab your favorite baseball hat or the gloves you garden with. You need breathability and versatility when it comes to all of your accessories. Remember, you may be cold or when starting out but after a few warm up miles you may need to stow your hat or gloves so something minimal and packable are critical.
